TESTIMONIALS

“Cheryl and her team have been caring for our cat whenever we go on vacation for many years. They spend time petting her and talking to her, provide her with food and clean water, clean out her litter boxes, apply a topical thyroid medication, trim her claws when necessary, and leave us detailed notes about what they did and how she was while they were there. They also bring in the mail and water plants.
Cheryl and her team are amazing. We have relied on them for many years, whenever we go away for a weekend or an extended vacation. The first time we called Cheryl, she scheduled a visit with us to meet our cat and learn where we keep all of the things our cat would need. Our cat (who is not particularly friendly with people she doesn’t know) responded very well to Cheryl and even let her pet her right away. I was quite impressed, as she typically doesn’t let people other than our family touch her. That first experience went very well, and we’ve called her every time we’ve needed care for our cat since then.
Once, when we were away during a large snowstorm, Cheryl’s team shoveled a path in our driveway and to our door, so that when we returned home late at night, we were able to get into the house without falling through the snow to get to the door.
Cheryl and her team clearly care about the pets they are caring for, as well as their families. While visiting to take care of our cat, they notice things like whether she needs her claws trimmed, if she is eating well, if there’s too much or not enough urine output, and if there are any signs of hairballs or accidents. They take care of anything that needs to be taken care of (brushing the pets, trimming the nails, and cleaning up any messes). Our cat is 20 years old and has had a thyroid condition for many years, and Cheryl and her team always let us know if they notice anything that would indicate we should talk to the vet. Whenever we return home, we find a detailed note about their visits and our cat’s behavior.
Cheryl is also always available by email and will offer suggestions to help keep our cat healthy. When our cat recently stopped eating for a day, Cheryl described what the issue might be and pointed out what the right solution might be before our vet got back to us with the same recommendations! She and her team (most notably Katie, who has often taken care of our cat for us) show through the way they work that they really do care about the pets they are taking care of, and I feel so fortunate that we found them to take care of our cat so many years ago.”            Donna W  6/2014

“Picture Cagney & Lacey teaming with Florence Nightingale for professional pet care services, and you will have TLK. This is simply a superb company. I am a very long-term customer and this review is long overdue. They impressed me so much this weekend that I am finally compelled to confess that my husband and I have been truly blessed to have Cheryl Wilson and crew looking in our cats for the past decade or so.  This organization is comprised of former vet techs and true animal lovers who give better medical and emotional care to animals than most people receive. We found Cheryl years ago when she taught us how to administer subcutaneous fluids to our cat. Years later, after countless pet sitting visits from TLK, Cheryl administered sub-q fluids to another cat. It was well done and reasonably priced. Cheryl bonded with the cat who enjoyed her visits so much as she neared the end. Cheryl gives the same great service whether it is a single medication visit or a two week tour of duty for three cats. She also knows when a referral to a vet is in order and does not balk at caring for a difficult cat. Her staff shine with care, thoughfulness, and solid judgment. The visits are carefully calendared and I’ve received emails politely pointing out that I got a day or date wrong. Years ago Cheryl told me that pet sitting, and especially the medical aspect of caring for animals, is her true work in life and nothing else could compare. It shows. If you are fortunate enough to live within the towns that TLK serves and you have yet to use their services, it’s time. In addition to the foregoing they take in the mail and look out for your home — and on one occasion, even called me when a pet was ailing, and suggested and provided a treatment while our trip continued without a hitch.  If TLK charges more than whatever kennel or service you are using now, remember this truth — you get what you pay for.” Helen & Jeff Flaster – Waltham

“Cheryl and her carefully chosen helpers have cared for my family’s pets for 15 years. I can’t imagine a more caring, loving, reliable, and trustworthy petsitter agency. Cheryl’s personal vet tech experience has been invaluable; one vacation, while we were on Martha’s Vineyard, she diagnosed and took my cat in to the vet for an intestinal obstruction; Cheryl recognized that he wasn’t eating well, and knew something wasn’t right. She called me on the Vineyard to explain that she knew our cat was in trouble, and I gratefully asked her to take him to the vet, where indeed, he had an intestinal obstruction. She truly cares for your pets as if they were her own, and you can trust her to spot something “not quite right” and deal with it. Her care of our pets over the years have included our cat, who has eaten foreign objects and had four surgeries for intestinal obstructions, our Mexican jumping bean standard poodle named Abby, and the love of my life, now passed away, a Shepherd/Chow mix named Bear who was the greatest dog on earth despite the fact that he bit our mailman in the calf and wouldn’t let our friends into the house until we barricaded him in the living room. However, he and Cheryl became best of friends, and she always made sure she was the one to take care of Bear while we were away. I wouldn’t have trusted ANYONE else with him. He loved her, and that’s the testimonial to what a great petsitter she is. As Bear got older, and quite frail, when we went on vacation I would always leave a health care proxy, giving Cheryl the permission to make health care decisions for him if a bad event occurred. That, to me, is the best testimonial one can give to the caregiver of your pet. I could gush on forever, but hope that my few paragraphs have communicated the incredible trust and appreciation I have for TLK Petcare. This is the place where you can truly go on vacation and leave your pets behind, knowing that they are as well cared for and loved as if you were home with them. Cheryl and her helpers have been a gift in my life, and the lives of my sweet pets.” Joan Oustifine – Watertown
